10 Tips to a More Fulfilling Life

Posted in Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on December 17, 2009

1. Don’t try to convince others to see things your way – associate with other like-minded people that support your vision.

2. Talk less and listen more – you’ll actually be perceived to be smarter and actually become smarter.

3. Be quick to forgive and forget – don’t let the past poison your future.

4. Always be on the lookout for how you can contribute value to a situation or an individual, not what you can get out of it, or them.

5. Don’t look at the flaws and mistakes of others as the problem; just pick up a mirror and understand the source of and the answers to all of your problems is staring back at you.

6. Accept full responsibility for your life – stop blaming others… and you’ll tap into the power to control your life

7. Regardless of your situation – realize that you are more capable than at any other point in your life – you are well equipped to overcome and prevail over any situation you find yourself in!

8. The grass always looks greener on the other side… if you tend to the garden you’ve been given, there won’t be any greener grass.

9. Stop – be aware and thankful for this very moment and every moment – it is in this place that your emptiness will be filled and the despair will cease.

10. There’s always room for improvement – if you seek to be a better person, spouse, friend, parent, partner – you will be…

These are just a few I’ve learned… please – do share more :-)

Success is a Journey, Not a Destination – Arthur Ashe

Posted in Business, Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on December 12, 2009

Don’t lose sight of the bigger picture – every circumstance is temporary and necessary in order to arrive at that place you’ve always dreamed you’d be… if you don’t lose sight. It’s easy to stay focused, enthusiastic and positive when things are going your way. When there’s a bank full of cash, new house, new cars and nice trips – all is good.

It’s when that other season comes – and it will – when all of that greatness, talent and smarts you believe you possessed is put to the test. It’s when you come face to face with who you really are – see what you’re really made of – and most importantly, what those closest to you see what you’re made of.

“Attitude, to me, is more important than facts, the past, education and money. It is more important than circumstance, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on with our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it!” – Swindell

Approach every endeavor with sheer zeal and the trials of life with resolve. Never underestimate what you can achieve… never settle! Stay focused on solutions, not problems and always remember that this gift of life you are privileged to have this day is just another day in your journey to success…

The Buck Stops with You

Posted in Business, Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on December 3, 2009

Whether you’re trying to get a job, get a raise, get a promotion, sell a product or service, or get funding for your new company – the buck stops with YOU. The outcome will be determined by you and you alone.

If you don’t accept full responsibility for the outcome, you’ll always have an excuse. People are full of excuses. Successful people aren’t; they just do what needs to be done and if it doesn’t work out the first time, they continue to do what is necessary until they get the desired outcome… with no excuses.

Are you confident?
Do you believe in yourself?
Do others see that you have purpose?
Do you exert a good attitude?
Do you express yourself effectively?

At the end of the day, everything you accomplish in life will be determined by your own actions, your own efforts and your own ability to effectively communicate and portray to others what you are all about. People buy people. That’s just the way it is.

Don’t believe me? When was the last time you hired somebody you couldn’t stand to be around? How about bought something from someone you just didn’t like? The deal might be great, but if the investor doesn’t like you, you can count his investment out…

The truth is, the buck stops with you and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you can remove all of the excuses and move on to bigger and better things.

What say you?

Grateful #tweetsgiving

Posted in Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on November 24, 2009

There are so many things I’m thankful for everyday; my lord and savior Jesus Christ, my family – children, grand-children, good friends, good health and the bountiful opportunities and adventures I live daily.

Today however, I am going to amplify the most important person in my life… my wife.

Living the life of an Entrepreneur can be hair-ball! No safe zones here folks – putting it all on the line everyday in hot pursuit of crazy ideas, visions and dreams is not for most. Dealing with my consuming passion for business and relentless work ethic is enough to make any wife sick and tired.

I have drug my wife through the mud! She is so much stronger than “macho” me that can fearlessly go where no man has gone before (LOL – sounds good)… But she is my emotional rock. She is a wonderful wife, a wonderful mother, a wonderful woman, a wonderful person, beautiful on the inside and out and I absolutely don’t deserve her.

And yet, there she stands, strong and sure, providing me and our children a home of love and comfort in the midst of my madness. I am so thankful for my wife and it’s solely because of her that I can be who I am today and become that better person I’ll be tomorrow… that little piece of her in my life is the best thing I’ll ever be.

I am grateful for her :)

P.S. I send a shout out to all empowering wives of entrepreneurs – thanks for all you do!

This post was created as part of a global groundswell of gratitude called TweetsGiving. The celebration, created by US nonprofit Epic Change, is an experiment in social innovation that seeks to change the world through the power of gratitude. I hope you’ll visit the TweetsGiving site to learn more, and to bring your grateful heart to the party by sharing your gratitude, and giving in honor of that for which you’re most thankful.

What Are You Focusing On?

Posted in Business, Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on November 20, 2009

The mind can be a tricky thing. It can run wild and out of control if you aren’t taming and directing this powerful processor. Learning how to master your thoughts is key to mastering the quality of your life.

If your mind is consumed with the problems you face, the answers will be slow at best in coming. The more you think about your problems, the bigger they become. You actually give power to them by dwelling on them. If you focus on your problems long enough, they will rob you all of your joy, all of your happiness and every good thing you’ve imagined for your life. This road leads to the end of you and the beginning of everything you despise.

You must stay focused on solutions. This won’t eliminate problems from existing, in fact, it will increase the opportunities you have to solve problems. Problem solvers are invaluable. A successful business requires solving problems – having a successful family requires solving problems – being part of a successful marriage requires solving problems. If you are master problem solver, whether in business or life in general, your capacity for success in all areas of life will be unlimited and you’ll have the ability to enhance the lives everyone around you.

Staying focused on solutions will produce a much different attitude and outlook on life, which leads to a much more fulfilling and happy life experience.

The Valley of Indecision

Posted in Business, Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on November 13, 2009

payperpost-realrank-decisionsThe Decisions we make will ultimately make or break the dreams, desires and goals we have for our life. If you don’t take control and make those decisions for yourself, your circumstances will. Indecision can and will adversely affect your future.

Every individual that has become a self-made success story has been in the same shoes you stand in right now. It’s the decisions they made that propelled them from where they were, to where they are today. There are so many examples of successful people to use here, however, two people immediately come to my mind – Chris Brogan and Tony Robbins . Here are two great examples of men that ignored their temporary circumstances and made the decision of who they were and where they were going, regardless of what their environment was telling them.

Tony was washing his clothes in the freaking bath-tub. How do you go from washing your clothes in the bathtub to living the mega-rich lifestyle and teaching others how to be successful? By taking control of your life and making decisions that shape your future. I can imagine the tears and disappointment Tony must have endured – knowing and believing in the deepest part of his being that he would be used to encourage and change millions of lives, only to be barely surviving, washing his clothes in the bathtub. This is a man that decided who he was and where he was going, while everything around him told him otherwise. Although he endured much suffering, he didn’t allow his circumstances to shape his future; he stayed the course and made reality line up with his vision for his life. It’s that decision and commitment to that decision that gave him the power to create his future… and that is precisely what is necessary to control and shape your own future.

It took eight long years for Chris to assemble his first 100 blog subscribers. Can you imagine what Chris must have endured to see his vision come to pass? 8 years! The disappointment, disillusionment, financial struggles, set-backs etc… yet, Chris never quit – he pressed forward and eventually, reality lined up with his vision for his life. Although Chris may have been tempted to quit, he did not and he is now one of our strongest leaders shaping social media strategies and re-defining the future of communications.

Have you made the decision what the course of your life will be? How long are you willing to work your butt off for it? How about the struggles, disappointments, disillusionment – are you willing to endure for 8 or 10 years to realize your breakthrough?

I can tell you one thing; more likely than not, the success you dream of will not come the way you think, or when you think it should. Success comes in its own time – what ensures your future success is first, having a vision for your life, and then deciding that nothing will prevent you from attaining it. If you stick to that decision, anything and everything will be possible for you.

If It Was Easy, Everyone Would Be Doing It…

Posted in Business, Inspiration, Life by gacconsultants on November 6, 2009

jigsaw successI love @ChrisBrogan ’s perspective on competition in this video. THE REAL COMPETITION IS YOU.

Success comes to those that overcome and endure. The fact is, most people are just not built to deal with disappointment, set-back and failure. We all deal with these seemingly negative experiences; however, it’s only those that recognize the value of these experiences that can harness the power it provides… a strong foundation to build a successful life on.

The depth of your foundation is essential and it’s established by the lows in your life, not the highs. That depth will ultimately determine the heights you can achieve. This is where most people can get stuck in a rut. By not completely understanding this truth, many get discouraged during the lows and convince themselves that success is just not for them.

What YOU “accept and tolerate” will determine the quality of life and level of success you achieve. If you are unwilling to accept anything less than the complete and total success you’ve always dreamed of, than you shall have it. If you’re willing to settle for less – than you’ll have that too. Ultimately, that decision is completely in your hands.

It’s Not What You Know; It’s Who You Know That Matters

Posted in Life, Social Media by gacconsultants on October 30, 2009

social-media-yeah-jon-rognerudSome know, some don’t know, some think they know, some don’t want you to know…

Those that know (Leaders) – These are those who are doing it. They have stepped out and have, or are in process of proving their theories and strategies. The rest of the world follows them because the have the battle scars, temperance, and skill set to kill it and they possess a deep desire to share their knowledge with others. They take full responsibility for their own life as well of those around them – it’s not what leaders know that makes them leaders, its what they do that does.

Those that don’t know (followers) – These are people that have a desire to learn. Good followers are invaluable, as they validate our leaders – and it is here that ALL Leaders are born. All leaders have at some point been exemplary followers. If you follow the right people, you’re pretty safe here – although, if you’re not careful, you can follow the wrong people into a ditch.

Those that think they know (imitators) – These are those that think they are leaders, promote themselves to positions of leadership and just use the material of leaders to prop themselves up. The problem with these folks is they contain very little substance when it comes to navigating through troubled waters and making the necessary adjustments to weather the storms and arrive safely at the desired destination. Plenty of shipwrecks take place as a result of poor leadership.

Those that don’t want you to know (Reprobates) – It’s not about leading or following here, its all about ME. What’s in it for me and how it benefits me, with absolutely no thought as to how it will affect others – taking advantage of weaknesses in others, scheming their way to the top at all costs – representing themselves to be all that is good and decent in the world, when in reality, they’ll do or say anything just to get in your pocket or get ahead in life.

In today’s social media age and the transparency it provides, there really is no excuse to get caught up with imitators, flakes or reprobates. It’s very easy to get information or even a recommendation on people you would like to do business with or just connect with. There are established trustworthy leaders with an army of good soldiers willing to give, serve and protect anyone that has a desire to learn, grow and better themselves in any area of their life. It’s not what you know that matters, it’s who you know that does.

Aligning with the right people can be an uplifting, fulfilling and enriching life experience and social media provides this opportunity for all.
